Gail Army began her Occupational Health Nursing career 28 years ago and has been an active participant in her local chapter, the Central Massachusetts Chapter of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses for the past 27 years. Gail’s service to her chapter includes responsibilities for membership, legislative affairs and peer education. Gail has served in several elected capacities for the Central Mass Chapter including as a member of the Board of Director’s, Corresponding Secretary, Vice President and President. In addition Gail has also served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Heath Nurses.
Gail is currently employed by Intel where she is the QA, Regulatory Compliance and Business Continuity Nurse for Intel’s America’s Region on site clinics.
In the past Gail has been employed by Motorola; by Marlborough Hospital where she was the MedWorks Program Director; by the Waters Division of Millipore; by Novacore and by Jamesbury Corporation. She was also co-founder/President of Occupational Health & Safety Solutions Inc (OHSSI) providing health and safety consulting services to small employers and Fortune 500 companies. She is an accomplished safety training grant writer and guest presenter at both local and National AAOHN conferences.
The world we live in has changed, and words like Terrorism and Pandemic require strategic workplace response initiatives. Occupational Health and Environmental Medicine are key components of these plans. As a preparedness advocate Gail represents AAOHN at the federal level on Health and Human Services planning committees engaged in Emergency Response planning and response. Gail also partners with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Fire Academy to bring Incident Command and Personal Protective Equipment/ Decontamination training to hospitals across Massachusetts.
